Not Your Hair began it’s life as a half joke in the studio with Lykez’s producer, quickly becoming catchy enough to be put down as a chorus and not long afterward, a crowd favourite.


After the original take of the track received a huge response on YouTube, with people delving into the somewhat accidental, socio-political aspect of the lyrics. The amount of issues raised meant that Lykez felt there simply had to be an answer track in the form of a remix, re-doing Not Your Hair with the addition of Lady Leshurr, (on our Tips For 2013 list) Lioness and Stush.
